Shin Splints

Coach Knoblock wasn't here today so they didn't practice. All the soccer team did was sit in the gym and gossip about the various things of the day. I went home. There was no reason for me to be there when nothing was going on.

I didn't know that we weren't going to be practicing until practice was supposed to begin. So I had went and talked to Coach Servis about taping shin splints anyways. We discussed two different ways that I could tape Miguel.

The first way included making tape ropes to put along the muscle, then applying pressure with tape that went completely around and up his shin.

The other way was a way that I knew about because I had been taped the same way before. Coach Servis didn't know what I was talking about so we looked it up on YouTube. Good ole YouTube. It actually didn't have the first way and it had a lot of other ways but I was quickly able to find the one that Servis had never seen.

If you are plagued with shin splints here is a simple way to tape your shin splints to get some relief. Another way to get some relief from your shin splints to actually sit on the floor or a bed with your legs straight out in front of you. Point your toes towards your face and hold them there for five minutes. You'll know it's working because you'll feel that all to familiar muscle burn in your shin. You can do this for however many days as you like or until your pain subsides.

Good luck with your shin splints!
Andrea
