Or at least that is what they are saying on Facebook. Today was the last pep assembly of the year. Since I don't have a seventh hour and I'm not required to go, I went home instead because I have this nasty sinus thing going on and I had decided take some meds, and fall promptly asleep.
I didn't even know that anything dramatic was going to happen or I might have went to the pep assembly. I'm sad to say that I wasn't there when Matt Frech of Woodward High School fell two stories into the arms of his fellow seniors. It was pretty ballsy I must say and I'm patiently awaiting for someone, ANYONE, to post a video of this epic fall.
At the glorious Woodward High School, whenever we have a pep assembly we have a competition between the different classes to see who can yell our "battle cry" the loudest. There are factors that are included though. If people are sitting down, you get points taken away. If your hall decorations look like crap, you get points taken away. Now apparently the new rule is if you do something dangerous, you get disqualified. Everyone believes that the seniors should have won, but they did something dangerous. Epically dangerous, but dangerous nonetheless. (I wish I would have been able to see it. Stupid cold.)
I'm sad to report though that the wonderful Matt Frech has been banned from tonight's basketball game and tomorrow he will be receiving punishment that the administration of Woodward High School believes that he deserves. T-shirts are being made as I type though to protest against them and they either say "Spirit Fall > Spirit Stick" or the ever popular Facebook status of Woodward students, "Free Matt".
At most I believe Matt should get some lunch detention at the most, hopefully he'll just receive a slap on the wrist and the day will continue on. The school encourages the competition between the classes and with it going on all year for the past, only God knows how many, years I think they should have expected something like this to happen. It was only a matter of time. No one had told the student body that they weren't allowed to do something like that. So why should Matt be punished?
Share your thoughts and concerns. Should Matt actually be punished? Why or why not?
If a video is posted I'll be sure to share the link. Something epic as this does not need to be only shared with those of Woodward, OK. Keep an eye out for it my friends.
If shirts are made and sold, I want one. (: That sounds so EPIC.
